The temperatures are rising in southwest Nevada. We will be over 100 today. So why not plan some Holiday projects. I remember in July playing Christmas carols in Northeast Ohio so I could convince my kids it was cooler outside then it really was!
Right now, I am just collecting supplies for the projects. Some embroidery, some knitting, some quilts blocks in 3 inch sizes to go on the holiday tree. And of course, I will be sharing them here on my blog.
Last week was very busy. My hubby had his second cataract surgery. All is good. His vision is getting less blurry every day. And our 9 year old grandson had his first stay the night at our house. I was busy.
Getting up at 6:00 am to drive to Las Vegas for the surgery. Breakfast at Black Bear Diner at 10:30 with my daughter in law and the grandson. Back home for an afternoon nap.
And the next day, here comes Ollie. Five stuffed animals, action figures, i pad, snacks, pillow, blanket and clothes. He sure brought enough stuff to do! He was a great help in keeping his Poppa from getting bored. The first night was McDonald’s dinner and then relaxing and his getting used to being here. I caved and slept on the couch with him. “grandma, can you tell Poppa to wake me up at 6:00 a.m.?” He got up at 5:30. Now Poppa is the kind of guy that the first hour he is awake you leave him alone so he can wake up and have his coffee… At 6:00, I heard “good morning Poppa” I stayed in bed. It was every Poppa for himself. Oh, they went outside and had coffee and apple juice on the patio. After a breakfast of leftover fries, we were off roading on Mt Charleston. Only made it half way up… It was a bumpy ride! Even at 10 miles an hour.
Back home for lunch. Poppa took a nap. He had brought some pages of school work to do and did that for me. I tried for a nap for both of us but no luck. My son and DIL came to pick him up in the late afternoon. Oh, the tears! But we promised he come back this summer and in the fall Poppa will be planting trees.
There wasn’t much crafting done last week. I will be back to normal shortly and sharing it all!
