We took a much needed few days away from home last week. Camping at the federal campgrounds in Williams, Arizona. We were about an hour away from the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It was warm in the late afternoon but nothing like here at home.. ( 95 versus 115 F). I really enjoyed seeing the wildlife. The squirrels in the morning run thru the campsite. Taking the jeep on the fire roads of the surrounding area was enjoyable. I saw wild turkeys. Of course, Williams is home to Bearizona, a wildlife preserve that must be seen. Bison, buffalo, wolves, big horn sheep and, of course, bears, oh my!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I did take a counted cross stitch project I am so close to finishing. I think I started it in 2023. It is The Happy Campers by The Blue Flower. Jeannine McGowan is the designer and she does a lot of nature projects. This piece reminds me of camping at the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Last year, the north rim area was ravaged by a wildfire. They are rebuilding slowly and taking great care to restore this beautiful area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week before we left, I reorganized my DMC floss. There is so much and I still don’t have it all in one place! Before I retired, I ordered patterns, fabric and the floss of the projects. I had so many plans. But these ideas were just like my eyes being bigger than my stomach at a holiday meal. I have so many kitted up. I thought when you retired your time became your own. Nope, laundry, cooking and cleaning take up too much time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
