I did find one relief from this… It is called a Necessary Adult Pause… otherwise known as a NAP.
So what am I working on? I think I need a craft bowl to put my ideas in. Then I can pick one a day and work on that… Unless something shiny comes along and calls my name.
But now I need to find the floss container that I put all my floss for Alice Country Diary quilt in so that I can prepare for the next block (8). Boy, I hope that I didn’t put it in with my other collection of floss. I did keep it separate for a reason. But when I get on a roll, who knows that happened…
Till then, My friends, please join me in battling this condition. I hate to think I am alone in this battle. Let me know what you are working on.
Have an awesome crafting day!
]]>My dad said he couldn’t have anything on the farm that didn’t bring in an income. My mom said they don’t ship animals….. But there it was right next to the order form! I marked the page every year. I prayed to Santa. And all I got was Barbies, baby dolls, and clothes. Bummer every year.

My donkey would be like Shrek’s donkey. Polite, clean, and happy. I never thought of what it would eat, who would clean up after it or where it would stay. I just thought it would stay in my room with me. It would be my best friend. But, alas, my parents had other plans.
Oh, we had animals…. Cows, pigs, chickens. I got to chase the cows all the time back to the barn for milking. I got to gather the eggs. I don’t remember doing much with the pigs.
Some times dreams don’t come true. And you get what you need whether you know it or not.
There are two donkeys living down the street from me now. I wave as we go by. I don’t have to shovel anything, feed them, or get them water. That is good enough for me.
And when I think of my donkey, I probably would have gotten “The Wonkey Donkey” anyway.
You tube has some great The Wonkey Donkey videos if you don’t know about this book! I read it at my grandson’s birthday party to 1 child and a room full of adults.
]]>Right now, I am just collecting supplies for the projects. Some embroidery, some knitting, some quilts blocks in 3 inch sizes to go on the holiday tree. And of course, I will be sharing them here on my blog.
Last week was very busy. My hubby had his second cataract surgery. All is good. His vision is getting less blurry every day. And our 9 year old grandson had his first stay the night at our house. I was busy.
Getting up at 6:00 am to drive to Las Vegas for the surgery. Breakfast at Black Bear Diner at 10:30 with my daughter in law and the grandson. Back home for an afternoon nap.
And the next day, here comes Ollie. Five stuffed animals, action figures, i pad, snacks, pillow, blanket and clothes. He sure brought enough stuff to do! He was a great help in keeping his Poppa from getting bored. The first night was McDonald’s dinner and then relaxing and his getting used to being here. I caved and slept on the couch with him. “grandma, can you tell Poppa to wake me up at 6:00 a.m.?” He got up at 5:30. Now Poppa is the kind of guy that the first hour he is awake you leave him alone so he can wake up and have his coffee… At 6:00, I heard “good morning Poppa” I stayed in bed. It was every Poppa for himself. Oh, they went outside and had coffee and apple juice on the patio. After a breakfast of leftover fries, we were off roading on Mt Charleston. Only made it half way up… It was a bumpy ride! Even at 10 miles an hour.
Back home for lunch. Poppa took a nap. He had brought some pages of school work to do and did that for me. I tried for a nap for both of us but no luck. My son and DIL came to pick him up in the late afternoon. Oh, the tears! But we promised he come back this summer and in the fall Poppa will be planting trees.
There wasn’t much crafting done last week. I will be back to normal shortly and sharing it all!
